Speaking of transcripts, when the school sent his unofficial one to him to use for entering course work, it’s crazy how many outright mistakes it had on it – classes in the wrong year, wrong GPA, etc. It took four revisions before it matched reality and was correct. Who knows what they sent to schools.
FWIW, I confirmed that all the mistakes on the unofficial transcript were also sent to colleges on the official one. The school is apparently going to send a revised transcript to colleges through Naviance along with a letter explaining why they needed a revision.
I pass this along as a cautionary tale. I always assumed the official transcript was generated by the data directly from Power School or whatever school X used for tracking grades. But it pays to ask for and closely proof the school’s transcripts for mistakes. In hindsight, we would have done this even sooner as it is cutting it close for the EA schools.
How soon after submitting all required documents does the status change from Application Submitted to Under Review? I will feel so much better waiting for a decision once we see the Under Review Status. Until then, I can’t help but worry something is missing. Just wondering if anyone happened to notice how the timeframe works
my brother’s status never changed last year before it changed to “decision made” Lol. And my status still says submitted although that was weeks ago…
ok phew. I will stop stressing. I have been checking portals, just to be sure things are all submitted on time, in case any follow-up is needed. BUT I really don’t want to accidentally check a portal and see a decision before my daughter does! Now I am comfortable leaving at least the Rutgers portal alone, and just relying on her checking it for results. Thanks!
Don’t worry - that can’t happen. At most you’ll see a checkmark next to “Decision Made”. You need to click through to another page to read the decision.
It’s like this at pretty much all colleges - you don’t see the decision on the landing page.
Anyone know how to change the email address for the Rutgers application? There’s an option to change in on the “Personal Information” page but there’s some glitch with the form because it acts like it works but then if you come back later it’s back to the original email. The issue is the SAT/ACT scores were send using the email he’s had for the College Board and ACT.org accounts for years which is different than what was used for Rutgers and apparently that’s preventing them from linking the scores to the app (what they said).
Questions about connecting SRAR. I submitted my Newark application and SRAR, but I didn’t find the link in my Application Portal. The status of the connection in SRAR is incomplete. I’ve already sent an email to admission office but didn’t get responses. The link is a button, right? Could you please tell me where’s the button or show me the screenshot of the portal with a link?
I have the same problem as of now. When you log into your SRAR, does it say “sent to Rutgers” on their end? I am assuming that the Rutgers website is painfully slow to update [which is why the checkbox for the SRAR is not checked off], but as long as it says connected on the SRAR portal then you should be fine.
For us the link to SRAR showed up as a checked box on the Rutgers site a couple business days after completing everything.
Interesting. It’s been 5 days since I submitted my SRAR and 3 days since my SRAR has said sent. I’m thinking of calling and seeing what’s up.
same issue here. SRAR was linked Monday, sent Tuesday and is not checked off in the portal.
If I recall correctly, the year my daughter applied, the Rutgers portal never showed the SRAR as linked. All the way through “under review” and “decision made”.
I heard a few acceptances came in on Friday. Did anyone here hear about decisions?
Yes. I got in
Congratulations. Which school?
Rutgers SAS
When did you apply?
Congratulations! Great to have this acceptance in the bag.
Last year the first wave of decisions came out on 11/18 - several weeks earlier than in the prior year. Looks like this year set a new record.
Wow so early this year then.
