Which one is better? Any differences academically? Which one would you choose?

TCNJ is better academically, although Rutgers is bigger and in a better location. Also, it depends on what you want to do in college- Rutgers has a really good pharmacy school, while TCNJ has a good education program

TCNJ is in Ewing, a quiet little town of Mercer County. The nearest excitement is Princeton and the nearest danger is Trenton.

As for Rutgers, I wouldn't recommend anyone go to Newark or Camden for safety reasons. New Brunswick, on the other hand, is a small city with more to do.

Based on location alone, I'd choose Rutgers.

Rutgers is also more well known than TCNJ, even if the quality of some of its programs isn't as good.

It also depends on the program you're applying for. Education = TCNJ, pharmacy, business, and health sciences = RU.

no one knows tcnj outside of new jersey. rutgers, on the other hand, gets confused with being in the ivy league ALL the time. prestige and name recognition arent everything, but they do go a long way.

both are comparable accademically i guess, but even then id give rutgers the nod. only go to rutgers if you get into new brunswick though.

a lot of kids at tcnj go home on the weekends.
