Basically I can't decide which to go to. All ranked very similarly, Penn State being the highest, and rutgers slightly over UD. I live in delaware, but dont particularly like it. My sister currently attends penn state and loves it there. I'm kind of tired of the country though, and would like to try out city life while i have a chance in college. If anyone has any ideas about the pros and cons of social/nightlife around these schools it would be appreciated. Ie. nearby places to go, places to go on campus, places to go in the college towns etc. Thanks in advance.

Well if a social life is what you are looking for then rutgers would be the right place, ur close to NYC and the campus of NB is Huge!. as far as academics it depends on what you want to do. Penn is ranked a bit higher than rutgers but it all really depends on what u want to do. rutgers is especially good in the sciences(pre-med), engineering, pharma, and i think business. The only thing about rutgers is that since it is very social there is also more of a chance for you to get distracted easily. either way Penn and rutgers are known to be very notorious when it comes to parties. good luck!

I was stuck between Rutgers, NYU, PSU, and UPItt. I chose Rutgers because it was:
a.) close
b.) cheap (I got practically a full ride)
c.) quite prestigious and a world-class research institution
d.) had a good social life.

PSU bar none has the best social life, since there’ a party on practically every block. The suburban setting also worked well for me.

It really depends on your major. PennState has a great engineering program while Rutgers has better business and pharmacy programs. Look at which one provides you the best opportunities for your major; the other things such as “social/nightlife” are secondary and you can get at any of the schools.
