I've now been accepted to both schools, but it is deciding that is the hard part. Rutgers is in my backyard, but Pittsburgh would bring me away from my (now old) high school band and indoor guards. Yet, Pittsburgh has film major and Rutgers does not.

What are the areas like? Which would you rather be in? I'm just looking for opinions to help my decision.

Pitt is slightly better academically (especially in philosophy, etc.), and the area is more alive.

However, unless it's your dream school, I don't think that the differences between the two are significant enough to make Pitt worth the money when Rutgers is nearly as good (and better in some fields) at instate rates.

True. My only concern with Rutgers is the lack of a film major.
