If anyone thinks fooball does little for a campus--you don't know ----

What an amazing comeback. I was ready to turn it off at 25-7, but glad I didn't. Rutgers sure has a bunch of obedient students. Did you see them scurry back to their seats after running onto the field a second prematurely? And without any security/police chasing them!

zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

M&B, The fans were being told that they were risking a 15 yard penalty that could have cost them the game! Yes they were scurrying!!

An amazing game. Good to see a pretender like Louisville knocked from the BCS. Not that Rutgers has an amazing schedule either.

CGM, you really should watch...there's a different meaning when someone talks about "scampering down the right sideline."

I thought its awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Amazing!
We kept looking for our son in the closeups of the students in the stands......
I hope he GOT to the game though, he was still at his dorm at about 6 pm with ticket in hand and couldn't understand his Dad's warning that he'd better get on some bus somehow, somewhere to get from Cook campus to the stadium if he hoped to see some football.

So cool to see Rutgers do good on ESPN!

We were at the Devils game & saw updates on the Jumbotron. Thought it was hopeless. I clicked on while channel surfing at home & just caught the field goal. Now I could kick myself for not taping the game.

barrons is corrrect about football having a huge, positive impact on a campus. I might even drag out my Rurgers sweatshirt today.

I am wearing my Rutgers sweatshirt right now!

My family and I were lucky enough to get tix 10 rows up on the 50-yard line on the Rutger's side---we sat with the players' families! Wow, what a game...my older D went to Rutger's adn we live close by, so we felt very loyal and proud. It was a wonderful experience, and seeing all those fans rush onto the field after the game was priceless!

The ESPN coverage was driving me nuts. For those of you unfamiliar with Rutgers, it is not right across the river from Manhattan, not even close. Of course random people on the streets there wouldn't know the Rutgers mascot. It would have been nice to see some remote shots from College Ave.

Rutgers is having a tremendous year. I hope Coach Schiano stays with Rutgers. I am proud to be a Rutgers fan and a New Jerseyan. RU!

MomOFour: It's the same with coverage of Giants/Jets/Nets/Devils/World Cup Soccer games at the Meadowlands. The announcers always say, "broadcasting from New York." Get a map!

Thanks tsdad. For those of us who just called out from under a rock and had no idea. That video was a pure joy to watch.

I would be if it still fit. 10 - 15 lbs would make a big difference.

Proud Rutgers graduate.
Class of '84.

I watched the game, enjoyed it (very exciting!) and am very happy for Rutgers, but I just find it bizarre that this football team makes people proud to attend, or prouder to be alumni, or even proud to be from New Jersey! I guess Rutgers will expect a lot more applications. I asked my son if he changed his mind about applying, but he still says no. I wonder if they will bring back varsity tennis. The one group this should make a real difference to are top rated high school football recruits. They should be more interested in Rutgers now.

People like to be associated with winners. Pretty simple. Not many people know or care that RU has the #2 Philosophy dept. in the US but most everyone know a little about college football rankings.

My brother got his philosophy degree from Rutgers.

You are correct that football success brings loads of free PR to a university. I used to love those Michigan NASA commercials with the fight song playing as a spacecraft hurdled through space & the astronaut alumni were listed. If the players stay out of trouble & graduate, it will bring only good things to Rutgers -- more attention, more applicants, more opportunity to tell the story of academic programs, etc.

Way to go Rutgers! What a trememdous win for them! CGM--you really should watch a game sometime!
