S/NP classes

Hi everyone,
Does it affect your chances to transfer to a UC if you have S/NP classes on your transcript? I took two, a biology seminar and a chem workshop as S/NP because that was the only grading option. It added up to 5 units. Thanks for the help.

No, they allow maximum of 14 P/NP units.

Also, make sure you do NOT use P/NP on your MAJOR courses!!

Does the 14 unit limit apply to only transferable courses?

^ Yes
@lawlking: thanks for filling in the important info!

Thanks for clearing it up  Yeah I haven’t used any P/NP on my major courses or GEs yet! I don’t think those two courses transfer… but i’m not completely sure

Do transferable courses include research units, seminars, or workshops?

I don’t think so. You should double check with the UC you are going to transfer to and see. Personally, a UCSC rep told me that non UC-transferrable courses don’t count, but I think you should double check :)
