On may 2 I signed an agreement I was going to tech (after the deadline). They think I paid my deposit the day before for unc and I didn’t want to tell them about uga because it would have complicated things. So basically I have two contracts but Ill have to back out of one of them

One at UNC as well?
Since GT doesn’t know about the other contract(s), and the other college(s) don’t know about each other, then this needs to be resolved asap. Although you might not have intended any wrongdoing, having more than one deposit at a college is not allowed. Students on a wait list can deposit at one college, and if they get off the waitlist at another college, accept that and then withdraw from the first college ( with enough leeway of a few days to get their acceptance confirmed by college #2), but in general, students can only commit to one college at a time.

That is different than what I thought then. I thought they had paid your deposit for you willingly, understanding you’d committed to another school, in order to give you more time to think about their offer. Why did you sign that agreement since the reasons you started your various threads was that essentially you wanted to go elsewhere but wondered about what it meant giving up ie/; very deep ambivalence about GTech?

In addition to your personal struggle to make a final decision that led to this pickle, you have to consider whether others might be involved. Do either CURO or PS run waitlists? So that once you say no, there is someone else who will be notified that they are receiving the opportunity and might change their plans because of it. Or do both just award extras, figuring a certain proportion will decline offer? If others and their plans are also involved, it is even more pressing for you to fix this now.

May 1st is the designated deadline, and unless the college has made a specific exception for you- knowing all the details, you don’t get any more time than anyone else. Your decision not only affects you, but also other people.

GT has reserved a spot and allocated funding for you. They have made a commitment to you. You signed an agreement with GT, and you need to either stand by your word or withdraw from the program. UGA ( and also UNC?) are holding a place for you and students on the waitlist are hoping for a place (s) at any of the schools you are deciding between.

Now you need to decide how long you are going to stay in violation of the rules, or make this right.
