One of the CALS schedule requirements is that you can only take one S/U class per semester. Does this limit include a PE class? As of right now, I have two S/U classes, one being the PE class and the other being a 1 credit colloquium.

I don’t know exactly how that policy works, but I can tell you that I’m a CALS student, and in spring '09 I took an S/U one credit seminar as well as a PE class. I have credit for both of them according to DUST’s degree progress page. can you find a link to that schedule requirement?

They probably meant you can only take one CHOICE class S/U.

As in PEs are only offered S/U and your colloquium is also S/U. They shouldn’t count towards that one per semester S/U.

However, for classes like um… Human Bonding (liberal arts distribution for engineers) you can choose to take it for academic credit OR S/U. Classes like this will then count to your limit

Thanks for the replies.
Faustarp, here’s the link: [Current Semester Information: Schedule Requirements](http://www.cals.cornell.edu/cals/current/advising/currentinfo/schedreqs.cfm)

thanks! I think the word “option” in that description is what’s key, like fallenmerc said. you had no option with the PE and the seminar.
