This is a kind of random question but does UCLA offer any statistics courses on sabermetrics (data analysis of baseball). This used to be kind of a fringe thing but has now become pretty mainstream in the athletic world. I've seen some colleges offer classes in this but I looked through the statistics courses on the UCLA website and didn't find anything. Just taking a shot in the dark here but does anyone know of any such class at UCLA? Thanks for any input

I don’t think they do any offer any specific courses on it, but what you could do is send an email to Nate Silver or someone else asking what types of statistics they thought were most useful to learn.

At least that’s what I was going to do, but I never got round to it. (If you get a response feel free to post it here ;))

Yeah, I was thinking of asking some semi-famous ones for what college curriculum they’d recommend if there wasn’t a specific class on it. Nate Silver probably doesn’t have time for lowly baseball stats anymore since he went big time politics. If you’re interested I can post whatever response I get from anyone.
