Sabotage Application to Get Rejected From ED School?

Hey guys, my friend applied ED to Columbia, but after visiting some other colleges, she's decided that she would much rather go to Swarthmore. Since she has already applied to Columbia, what should she do? She's also having her interview in a few days. Should she tell her interviewer that Columbia's no longer her first choice?

Thanks!

She can call or email the Columbia admissions office to withdraw her ED application. There is no need to "sabotage" or do anything of that sort.

For the interview, she could dress in her 5th grade holloween costume, talk in different accents for each sentence, and request to meet inside the "It's a Small World" ride at Disneyland. The subject of conversation would be why Columbia is a disgrace to the Ivy League system and how she has hit rock bottom with her alcoholism and is still continuing to dig.

Or just withdraw application in a very simple manner.

Can't she just change her application from ED to RD? Or withdraw it?

I like Gryffon's first idea...

Knowing the ivies they'd think that the girl in Gyffon's idea is unique and would contribute to diversity.

She could send in a fake letter of recommendation from Donald Rumsfeld. Or she could show up wearing a Snoop Dog T-shirt and say, "COLUMBIA?? I wanted to go to COLOMBIA!!"

THanks Gryffon...

That's the first time i've actually lol'd at something online (for real)

:)

I like the withdrawal idea if you can resubmit IRL.

That said, I couldn't help but screw with the interviewer.

She can change her application to regular if she still would consider going to Columbia. She also can completely withdraw her Columbia application. Doing this is not a big deal.
