SAC for Aspiring Director/Showrunner?

My S19 is considering University of Michigan for the SAC program. I’ve read through some posts, but couldn’t find anything current.

S19 is looking for film production and screenwriting. He’s applying to the usual schools, but Michigan may be financial safety (OOS) if he can get in (4.0/32/lots of relevant EC’s/strong essays).

Any insight on the SAC program for an aspiring Showrunner/Director?

How competitive/selective is the screenwriting sub-major?

Didn’t this this merited a new thread.
I’m posting in case anyone finds this thread while researching film or TV offerings at U-M.

The Screen Arts & Culture (SAC) has changed its name to Film, Television, and Media (FTVM). According to the FTVM weekly newsletter, “This name launches us into a new era and reflects who we are and what we do in our teaching, research, and creative endeavors.”
