Sac State Transfer (CSU Sacramento) 2012-2013

Now, before anything, I do say I have posted other threads about my personal situations but this thread is more on a broader sense. I want to create this thread not only for me but for other people interested in applying at CSU Sacramento.

In my case, I am interested in applying for Electrical Engineering. I am not in the local area since I live in LA County. Is there any source of statistics of admission for Sac State? I am applying for Fall 2013.

I’m from Sacramento originally and I went to UCSC and wanted to transfer to sac state for either this fall or spring and they said I couldn’t because of credits. So I think as long as you meet there minimum credits/GPA you should be ok. I know priority goes to locals, then state, then OOS transfers! Good luck!

@UCSCgirl: thanks for the info. I do ask, though, if Sac State is an impacted campus, even to locals? I don’t find much info about this in comparison to CSU schools like SJSU, SDSU, CSU Long Beach, or Cal Poly SLO.

I’m going to apply to sac state for fall 2013 as a last resort, since I’m most likely going to UCSC because I’m submitting a TAG to UCSC.

Sac state statistics: http://www.csus.edu/checkusout/college_portrait.pdf

I read somewhere that the average transfer GPA is 2.88. So anybody with a gpa above 3.0 should easily get in.

It wasn’t advice @sun. I speculated like you just did.

tear damn… I am probably have to give up college if some of these opinions are true. :’(

I know I have a *ty ass GPA but I will just risk it and send those applications for Fall 2013. I did spoke with an advisor for Sac State and she said (I guess to save my butt to have a chance when applying) is to be in good standing at the last institution attended. I hope they give me more consideration at my CC GPA than my *ty UC Davis GPA. :(

I’m pretty sure it’s not that impacted for locals, I know a lot of kids from my high school applied to sac as a “safety” but then again I know kids who were denied like me who has a GPA over there average. I think it may depend on your major as well as where you’re from

My brother goes to Sac State and has had trouble getting into classes due to impaction. He lives in Sacramento County.
