Are you happy with it?

Got my daughter’s today and we are happy with it. An additional scholarship for dance company was added on top of the Performing Arts Grant. Small unsubsidized loan was exactly what we are seeing from other schools, so no surprise there.

So did any of your kids commit to SHU? my son is still undecided as to which school to pick. Ugh. Got into Umass Lowell, umass Amherst, Springfield College, Stony Brook as well. SHU is most $$ but not a huge difference from UM-Amherst. We are not Catholic and he is afraid SHU will be mostly religious students and I tell him that won’t be the case. Any one have feedback on that concern of his?

My daughter hasn’t committed yet, but are close in that decision. Attending the accepted students’ day in a few weeks. We are not Catholic. In fact, my daughter has been at private Catholic schools her whole life and similar to what I expect at SHU, she is surrounded by people of all religions, and of no religion. She has taken ethics, philosophy and world religion classes and has never felt singled out. She has had the opportunity for strong curriculum grounded in a value system. I suspect SHU will be like that.

Sounds like everybody that has been able to attend an in-person accepted students day has really enjoyed it. We got an invite to the virtual version. Has anybody attended a virtual day here or elsewhere that would compare? Do you think they would still send out swag or is that only after you pay the deposit?

I received a package with a shirt, mask, mug and sticker this monday after attending the virtual welcome night help for students back at the end of February. I have not committed but plan on it soon. Sacred Heart has really gone out of their way to host and really make me feel special about getting accepted. All of the other schools I applied to are doing everything online and after a year of zoom fatigue its nice to feel like SHU actually cares.
