Sad news from Rider University

<p>According to our local news, this is alleged to have occured as a result of some binge drinking. Another student was also hospitalized, but is expected to recover. The student who passed away was reported to be from California. I can't imagine those poor parents getting that phone call and having to fly to New Jersey...</p>

<p>This reinforces how important that it is to educate our kids on being safe.</p>

<p>AWRENCE TWP., N.J. - March 30, 2007 - A Rider University student has died from alcohol poisoning, and police want to know if the poisoning was the result of fraternity hazing.</p>

<p>At 10:50 am 18-year-old freshman Gary DeVercelly of Long Beach California was pronounced dead at Capital Health System's Fuld Campus in Trenton, said Don MacNeill, a hospital spokesman. Devercelly had been in critical condition at the hospital.</p>
