Sad of Leaving High School? :(

This is really weird but up until recently, I couldn't wait to get on with my life, I am currently going to be a senior and this whole time I have been wanting to get out of high school so badly. For some reason all of a sudden I feel really sad that I only have a year left and after that everyone is going to be spread out. Anyone else feel this and is this too soon to feel it?

During senior year I felt the same thing. You say you can't wait to graduate and move on with your life but at the same time you wish you could stay a bit longer.

I felt like that summer before senior year, but now that I've graduated I can't wait to go off to college and want to leave NOW!!!!!! lol

You have a full year. That's quite a long time, I would say. Worry about that when you have like a month left or something...

lmfao senior year didn't even start yet.

i was like that throughout my entire senior year so i tried to hang out with my friends as much as possible. it stil hasnt really hit me yet that ive graduated but i think it will once i go to orientation

As a rising senior, here is what I am feeling:

Can I leave now!!!!!!! (I think senioritis has kicked in early). I want to have apps out of the way and acceptance letters in. If life were a video (live with the slight anachronism!!), I would fast forward to April 1, then again to September. Oh well, senior year in highschool comes but once; might as well enjoy it.

I agree with ivyleaguewannabe. I mean, I'm looking forward to some things about my senior year, like my classes, all of which I'm really interested in. But I wanttt to get the 'getting into college' thing over with. Nowww!

I had a dream last night that I got rejected from all nine of the schools to which I'm planning on applying. The rejections came in the mail... but they weren't separate letters, one from each school. I got an envelope and inside of it were popsicle sticks, each with a school's name on it and a post-it attached that said "REJECTED." And there was a note from my guidance counselor, but I don't remember what it said.

ROFLLMFAO Ouch.

...I hope you're kidding. Dream about colleges? Wow...shows how much you think about them daily. ;)

I was sad this past May when all the seniors started leaving. I kind of gotten over it by now.

XD Invoyable, I think it's 'cause I spend so much time on here...

Entering my senior year and not sad at all (yet). I never really did like the school at all, but I guess I'll miss a lot of the friendships I've made and such.

My words of advice- I felt the same way you're feeling now. Enjoy the year as much as you can as it will go by really fast.

This summer is so surreal... I don't know what to do with myself even though I'm fairly busy. (summer between high school and college)

I've always had the "can't wait to get out of this place" mentality. I did get a little sad when my senior friends ended school earlier this year, but it didn't last long. I realized from having friends in previous graduating classes that it is possible to keep in touch with friends from a distance. Of course many will part ways, but those that matter will still be close, even from across the country. There's nothing except for Florida's beaches and my family that I'll be sad to leave behind. Otherwise, as a rising senior, I'm with ivyleaguewannabe and Poseur...let's get to Sept. 09, please.

not sad .

Entering senior year and I kinda can't wait to get the heck out of there but ill miss my friends cuz were gonna be together anymore.considering im going to michigan hopefully..im just gonna enjoy it to its fullest..ill miss it when im gone so ya know

college was a brand new experience for me and leaving high school was the best thing that ever happened to me!

Yup. On our last day of high school we went nuts and had a crazy party. good times..wasn't till I got home that I realized how much I'd miss school :( It took me a while to readjust to life..but I made it :D and so will you :D :D Though I'd kill to get back to those days, I know I have a very selective memory where I've left out the bad. They weren't ALL that great and NOW isn't all that bad either :P

I'm homeschooled; it makes no difference really to me! But if I was still in the public system, I'd feel your pain; I still reminisce about 9th and 10th grade..

I'm sad that I can't make fun of everybody anymore. Other than that, SCREW YOU GUYS, IM GOIN H

ah im only a rising junior and all i can think of is how happy i would be i were accepted to MIT, or how depressed i would be if i were to be rejected.

and yes, i want to be done with highschool. badly.
