I got accepted to my first choice, the UW, but I most likely cannot attend because
of the competitive major admissions to Computer Science and Business. Ugh so frustrating esp for OOS tuition(CA), I needed to get my major and graduate in 4 years. (Anyone is a similar dilemma? It sucks becuase when I visited, I absolute fell in love with the school (music scene, size, school spirit, sports, AWESOME city) sorry this was more to get my feelings out there, because UW was really like top top top choice over the UC system and a perfect fit for me. Oh well..
Anyways, congrats on everyone who got in! You all deserve it and I wish you the best!

Don’t quote me, but I think the DA for Business and CS is still rolling. You still have a chance to get directly admitted into your major!

I dont have a chance with my poor SAT: 1830 although I help run my family business, I doubt im getting DA to Foster. I’ll hope! :)

Try applying later. Business isn’t that competitive. It’s definitely less competitive than CS. Just get good grades in your classes, especially the core ones (3.5 or so) and get a good score on the WSA (easy if you prepare) and you will be in.

In reference to the business school:

Yes, you can always apply later. I’m a transfer student, so I had to apply to Foster through the Upper Admission Group process. I applied during Fall 2011 and was admitted Winter 2012. I’m graduating this June; getting admitted as a junior did not delay my graduation. Overall, I’ll have had 3 years of college, which was enough for me to earn a BABA but not specialize. If you’re taking 4 years, you should have plenty of time to satisfy the requirements of the BABA major as well as a specialization or two.

Also, you can register for business classes even if you’re not a business student. You just have to wait for the first day of the quarter. Sure, a lot of the classes will be full, but people are likely to drop. That way, you can get a headstart on your business classes if you want to.
