I'll be rooming in a sadler hall split double for freshman year, whats the good and the bad?

PROS
biggest split double out of all dorm rooms
next to lawrinson which has a bookstore

CONS
bad dining hall
kinda far from campus

it’s not that far from campus at all! I think everyone who says that is in Newhouse and thinks campus means those three buildings… I lived in a Sadler open double last year as a soph, mostly because it was CLOSE to my classes (Maxwell and Carnegie). It’s far from Life Sciences, but so is everything else except for Shaw, and sure, it’s further than most from Newhouse, but it’s not far from “campus.” None of the dorms are far enough that they’re not a reasonable walk to class, though…and if they are, there’s a bus. Go figure!
Pros–close to the games, volleyball field/lots of open space, not sharing a laundry room (1 for each building, most are 1 per complex!), lawrinson bookstore

Cons–dining hall (unless you’re veg, in which case it’s good), wind tunnel effect between the dome and ESF (bring a winter jacket w/hood or with a hat and scarf and you’ll be fine).

Sadler does not have a bad dining hall, and you don’t have to leave the building to eat. Plus there’s the smoothie bar. Other pros are that it’s close to the dome and the gym, the mini quad, and the I think the layout of the building itself is good too.

Cons would be the walk to some buildings. It’s pretty far from the library which is kind of annoying. And to get anywhere you either have to go up stairs or a hill.
