I would like to know if anyone can recommend me 3~4 good safeties and matches (both high and low) besides UCs. I am planning to major in economics or finance (computer science as my back up) I prefer a school in urban/suburban settings.

Do you need financial aid?

Indiana (killer B-school)
U-Minnesota
Case Western
Tulane
Emory (match)
Vanderbilt (match)
U Pitt Honors
U Cincinnati
DePaul
Bentley
Bryant
Boston U
U Maryland-CP
Stevens
NYU-Poly
U Washington

@Erin’s Dad: Yes, I need financial aid.

@OHKID: Thanks! How are other schools of NYU (especially Leonard Stern?)

Good, and all of NYU except Tisch and Stern would be a match (NYU-Poly is actually a seperate uni altogether)

Stern is tough to get into, but stellar once you get there. Almost on par with Wharton.

What major? NYU-Poly is only really engineering and technology. I.e. you can certainly major in English, but you’ll still take a heavy engineering course load. Which I think is kinda cool but it may not be for you.

I’m a Southern California native!!! Born and raised in Orange County!!! I’m a UCI grad! <3 OC

The University of Alabama has a really good business school

AND…you’d get free tuition with your stats!

And, you’d likely merit a good department scholarship to stack on top of free tuition! :)

So, UA should be an EZ safety to apply to. Admission app is super EZ & scholarship app is super EZ :)

(I have 2 sons at Alabama. They love it. )

Out-of-State Scholarship Offer

Students who have a 32-36 ACT or 1400-1600 SAT (critical reading and mathematics scores only) and at least a 3.5 cumulative GPA will receive out-of-state tuition for four years.

[ This scholarship is worth about $80,000  ]

Go to my post here for links to UA Culverhouse School of Commerce and Business (since this post was for someone else, some info won’t apply to you. That person wanted to also know if AMTRAK was nearby.)

Also, super Honors College - 4 programs - 2 are very competitive Honors programs (average ACT 33 - only 40 students accepted). Your stats are high enough to easily get accepted to the other two programs.

Don’t let the $31k total Cost of Attendence scare you …that includes personal expenses, travel, and the most expensive dorm choice. Besides, you’d be getting at least one awesome scholarship (plus, likely another)

BTW…do you know what your family income is? If so, we can determine what other aid you might get. :)
