Can someone suggest some safety/matches for me?

I have a few in mind, but I would like to know more options.

I'm looking to apply to Northwestern, Vanderbilt, University of College, Michigan, and Boston College so far.

GPA 3.65/4 UW 6.9/7 W
Rank 22/600+
ACT 31 with 10 writing
Super Score: 33 with 12 writing
Good EC: Intern, Volunteer, Sports, Tutor, Charity Event, Clubs...etc

I want to major in political science and become a lawyer so somewhere with a good program in this major would be appreciated.

First cardinal rule for safeties: You the student must LOVE them in the sense that you would be HAPPY to go there if there’s bad news on April 1. A college that you are unwilling to attend is no safety.

Second cardinal rule for safeties: You and your family must be able to afford the cost of sending you there if there’s bad FA news on April 1.

So—have you considered the need to find financial safeties as well academic ones?

Some things that might help folks give you specific suggestions about schools that might be safeties for you are:

1) Roughly how much can you and your parents afford for tuition, fees, room and board each year?

2) Do you know an estimated EFC? Can your family afford your EFC? If not, you’ll need to look for schools that award * serious merit awards * and schools where the COA is within what your parents can afford to pay.

3) Your location. Often times the best safety (both academically and financially) is an in-state public school that you’d be happy to go to and that it’s clear you’ll be admitted to. [In some states, the flagship is a reasonable safety for many top students, but in other states, the flagship is getting pretty tough to get into and at best can be regarded as a “match”.]
