Safeties

I am applying to Ivy League Schools, and I want to add some safeties on my list. I am international by the way. Please recommend some safety schools.

What are your stats? Are finances an issue? What do you want to major in? What type of school are you looking for - location? public vs private? large vs small? residential vs commuter campus?

GPA: 98%
SAT: n/a (but scores are very good from practice tests-->above 700 and 750)
Major: International Relations/History/Linguistics
Private school, preferably small, residential campus
(what is computer campus?)
Plz gimme some safeties.

com*m*uter campus ;) It's the opposite of a residential campus, meaning that most students live off-campus and commute to school every day.
One last question: do you have geographical preferences (e.g. Northeast, rural vs urban)?

oh, lol!
I prefer northeast, yes. New England region. Rural or urban, it doesnt matter

Syracuse seems to fit your criteria but it is rather large (around 10.000 students?)

Some smaller schools without a linguistics major:
American University in DC
Skidmore College in NY
Lafayette College in PA
Mount Holyoke College in MA (only if you are female)

Those are all match-safeties provided that you are not from an East Asian country and that you do not need fin aid.

For a real safety I would look at larger public universities like the University of New Hampshire or the University of Massachusetts at Amherst.

But are these good colleges? They sound pretty..well.
I'm Greek btw, and I do need financial aid...do u think NYU is a safety?

NYU is pretty popular among intls because, well, its name contains NYC. You can consider it a match but not a safety.

The schools I listed are all good schools but a little bit "below your league" which is the characteristic of a safety school. You also have to keep in mind that the intl pool (even the one without fin aid) is more competitive than the domestic pool.

Ok, i will consider some others. My stats are more than fine for these schools I presume, though the idea of compromising is vomit-inducing..:D
