<p>Hey everyone, one of my friends is going to UBC and I’ve been thinking about it, and I’ve seen an article on people getting drugged at parties. Does that occur over there? Would it be safe for freshmen who are going there for the first time?</p>
<p>Probably. Though, I’ve never heard anything about it from my friends who attend either campus. There’s rotten apples everywhere; just remember to be safe, don’t accept drinks from strangers, don’t leave your drink unattended, and have a buddy system to ensure everyone gets home safe afterwards. :)</p>
<p>…As to freshmen, it should be safe, but because I’m a worrywart, I’d advise your friend to hold off on being in those environments until he/she feels comfortable with being in a new city and has a support network in place. I’d rather they had a great first experience at university, and held off on partying a bit, than jumped in for the sake of it and got hurt!</p>
