I have a 3.2 GPA and a 1270 SAT right now (am retaking in Nov and hope to get above 1400), and would like recommendations for safety schools (which I am clearly lacking), preferably those with lower tuition ($30k range, considering GWU is $46k a year). Considering I will major in Political Science, any college I attend will have to be in or very close to a major city - and it must be on the east coast [Chicago is my limit to the west].

I am applying to the following schools:

Top three:

1st: George Washington University [Reach]
2nd: American University [Match]
3rd: Trinity College, CT [Reach]

Others I am applying to:

Clark University, MA [Match]
Syracuse University [Slight Reach]
Fordham University [Slight Reach]

Some possible safeties for you to check out : Drew University (NJ), Manhattanville College (NY), Wagner College (NY), Goucher College (MD), Stonehill (MA), Manhattan College (MA), SUNY Oneonta, Hartwick (NY), Ursinus (PA), St. Joseph's U (PA)

I am not applying ED to GWU because I want to increase my SAT/do good on the ACT, and because I have three years of doing nothing in HS to make up for, all in 1 semester.

My school is public and does not rank, but it is highly competative - I would venture to say that I am in the top 75% (yes I am aware of the fact that GWU says 100% of their students were from the top 50% of their class)
