Safety school for an average SAT

I have a 1260 and a 3.7. Am I a "likely admit" at a school with an average SAT of 1200?

Weeee! we're in the same boat. That's not a safety school. you need one sure bet, and that's not that sure. Perhaps it could serve as a safety-ish school

I have around 1400 to 1600 with a 3.7
Nope... it's not really good =(

Out of 2400, you've only known half of the test =(

Err, no, I have a 1260 Math+Verbal. Writing is 760.

the writing may be a boost at schools you are looking at for safeties. but i would look for schools where the avg is around 1100 for safeties.

Depends on what averages you're looking at.

Most schools will indicate in bold print what the middle 50 average scores are but most schools will also have somewhere on their websites the average scores for the top 25th percentile or so. It takes a little searching but it's worth it to get a more accurate picture of what scores are truly safety/reach. Chances are if you can beat or at least match average scores for the top 25th percentile, you've got a pretty good shot.
