<p>Can anyone suggest some safeties for me? I want a mid sized school with a campus feel & school spirit (so decent athletics would be nice). Im looking at USC but I want some other options. I want a socially bigger school but I tend to get overlooked in huge classes so I want to avoid huge lectures halls. Thanks!</p>

GPA: 3.7 UW, 4.1 W (However I go to a highly rated "feeder" school. We had 10 kids go to Stanford this year out of about 150, 4 to Harvard, 5 Princeton)
APs taken : World History (4), Computer Science (4), currently taking : Chem, Calc AB and US History.
Senior year I plan to take : AP Bio, AP Psych, AP Environ. Science, AP Stats, Madness in Literature, Adv. Journalism
My school doesn't rank.
Intended major: Im very interested in neuroscience or neurobiology. the biological basis of behavior. & ive done stuff involving this in highschool. </p>

PSAT - 223 (NMSF)
SAT - 800 R, 800 W, 720 M (2320)
SAT 2s - 750 Math II, will take chem this year</p>

Journalism: 3 years reporter -- written for multiple section in the award winning publication(Silver Crown award paper) & the online website (Gold Crown award). Sports editor next year. Got an honorable mention in a writing competition for the NSPA (national scholastic press association). may be published in a national magazine like fortune (co author)
4 years Varsity water polo (went to Junior Olympics summer before my freshman year & my team placed 9th overall)...probably gonna be a captain next year. got second team all league this year. (CA water polo is the best state for water polo in the nation fyi)
Red Cross : officer my soph & junior year. Organized basic aid classes to teach younger kids . on the youth executive board at the Red Cross chapter.
Hospital Volunteer - 150 hours so far. Junior Team Leader for Maternity ward.

<p>Summer:
last year I went to the slums of Costa Rica to provide aid to the Nicaraguan refugees. I was very passionate about the cause (& it will be one of my essays). I received the Presidents Volunteer Service Award for my efforts.
this year im interning under a professor in an university(ucsf) doing work involving patients with schizophrenia. </p>
