Note on Quinnipiac: if you are interested, apply quickly. Apparently they have rolling admissions, and last year some kids with really outstanding stats who applied later were rejected.

Post #19: Boston College is similiar to Wake Forest University in many respects. Colgate University is another that is similiar to WFU.

As an Emerson alum, I can tell you right now that it probably won't be for you. We have NO sports culture to speak of. Granted, that's been changing a little recently, but if you're looking for a D-1 school, Emerson is about as far from it as you can get.

That being said, I loved it. If you're serious about Communications and willing to sacrifice the sports stuff for a great, hands-on approach to communications, I think Emerson would be a good place to be. It's a very passionate, focused and driven community, which is what drew me to the school. There are countless projects to get involved in and people to exchange creative ideas with. If that sounds like something you'd be into, def a good safety choice.

Otherwise, I say Syracuse and Ithaca. NYU is expensive as hell but has the benefit of being in NYC, the mecca of the communications industry, which means you can do TONS of internships , make tons of connections and beef up your resume. CRUCIAL when it comes to getting a job in this industry. You've probably heard that it's all about who you know, and honestly, I really can't stress that point enough. As a recent grad who had to get a job, I was surprised just by how absolute that statement was.

Also, check out the link in my "homepage" section on my profile. It's the website I work for and has student reviews of colleges. Should help you get a better sense of the culture at any college you're considering. CC won't let me post a link to it. :(

Thank you everybody for your responses. I'm taking a look at all of your suggestions. I greatly appreciate it. Just another question, I applied EA to BC, would it benefit me to take the ACT again in december?

Wake Forest (4412) is more similar in size to Holy Cross (2800) and Colgate (2781) than BC (9000). Colgate and Holy Cross are both in the Patriot League and the schools in that league are similar in size and academics and Division 1 sports to Wake Forest.
What does student body size have to do with the question asked in Post #19? I understand the question as one seeking a similiar campus culture & academic atmosphere.

I agree about BC, Wake Forest is way more into sports than Holy Cross

Agree. The ACC (BC, Wake Forest) is much higher profile sports than the Patriot League (Colgate, Holy Cross).
