If you read my other post, you know I'm a rising senior interested in nursing. I've found a few more schools that I'm interested in-I'm also looking for safeties. I'd be more than happy to chance back if you include your link.

GPA: 3.3 unweighted, honors and pre-AP courses. Slight upward trend. One C due to a bad teacher-the average for her classes was a D+, and my GC will explain this in my recommendation.

SAT I: 720 CR, 630 M, 690 W

EC's: Student Council (9-10) SADD (10-11) Christ's Closet (free clothing store, 9-10) Part time job (paid for my tuition since grade 9).

Volunteer hours: well over 300.

My intended major is nursing.

I've got a reach:
Northeastern

And I've got a few matches:

UMASS Amherst, UCONN, Quinnipiac, Fairfield Penn State, Slippery Rock, Endicott, and Stony Brook

But no safeties! Does anyone have any ideas? I'd prefer to stay in the northeast, but I'm willing to look other places.

York College of Pennsylvania might be a nice safety. A niece graduated from there in nursing two years ago and had good summer jobs and nice offers upon graduation. They have rolling admission, so you could apply soon and get an acceptance in hand early.

Thanks, I’ll look into it!

Well I know you mentioned Stonybrook and I dont know if youre interested in any other SUNYs but I live in New York state so I know a bit about them. Most of them would be safeties for you. If you like big research universities you might want to consider University of Albany or University of Buffalo. Also Binghamton but that would be more of a match I think.

And then for smaller schools theres Oneonta, Oswego, New Paltz… there are a few more that would be safeties, and Geneseo would be match.

mines not a chances thread but im also wondering about schools around there http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/college-search-selection/1541318-schools-new-england-i-could-get-aid.html

I posted! Does anyone know of any schools in NY? Or anything about the schools I’ve listed?
