I’m gonna be a transfer for Fall 2008 as a junior. I already have about 7 schools on my lists, but I’m desperate for safety schools. Here are my stats:

Academic GPA as of the end of freshman year: 3.86
But I’m going to work really hard on it to bring closer to 4.0

SAT stats: reallyyy bad, hope they won’t matter as much because I’m a transfer
Critical Reading 600
Math 580
Writing 550
(and that was after a second try)

ECs:
Volunteer work
- Peer Educational Team
- Active volunteer in the OSD (Office for Students with Disabilities)
- local film festivals
Gospel Choir - got a scholarship for a year of being an active member
Film Club
Tai-Kwando - white-yellow belt qualification
Student Government - Student Representative

Recs: From my college english teacher. I think he likes me, but I doubt he thinks I’m all the way exceptional or something… though he was impressed how I progressed throughout year with my essays.

Work:
Office and notetaking job in OSD

I planning to double major in Journalism and Spanish or Romance Languages. Traveling around the world is a way to go for me. I was born in Russia and lived there for thirteen years, so I think I have a broad view of an international student, although I’m a legal US resident right now.

Also, I don’t know if I should list my HS accoplishments, since I’m transfer. Here is my college list:

New York University

University of Northwestern

Elon University

University of Richmond

Ithaca College

Stony Brook

Syracuse University

I know I’m kinda shooting here for the stars. So, I will really appreciate anybody’s help!

P.S. I love New York City, and am most likely looking at the schools over there. But other big cities, like Chicago are fine too. So, I guess I prefer urban setting.
