Safety schools?

Rhodes? (10 characters)

UVA a match or a reach?

I'd say UVA and W&L are reaches for just about everyone. Same with UT, UNC, and UF. But you wouldn't be overshooting to apply.

alright cool. thanks.

Rhodes - match/safety, they are known for giving good merit money, you should get some especially if your ACT comes out closer to 33 (think St Olaf's in terms of selectivity).
Another thing I would want you to consider if I was your Mom, is availability of an airport. Atlanta, Charlotte, Memphis, DC, Orlando, Dallas - those are the "Southern hubs" - travel to one fo these cities will be much easier. With that in mind - Davidson, Elon, Oglethorpe, Mercer, Rhodes again, Mary Washington, Rollins, Southwestern in Dallas - again a variety of selectivities, all relatively small, mostly match/safety

Rhodes in Memphis, Tn. might be a safety if you get those SAT scores. Excellent for pre-law, stunningly beautiful campus, definitely on the preppy side.

Southwestern is actually not very close to Dallas. Austin is the nearest airport. Southwestern is in Georgetown. (just a minor correction...)

does rhodes have a track team?

Yes, Rhodes runs indoor and outdoor track. What is your event, lolok? Are you planning to run in college?

yeah i started a thread earlier on this...100 m and 200 m

university of richmond is very preppy. I'm not sure if that's south by your standards though.

** my weighted rank is 6%, unweighted is 16%

What would say a safety school would be for a:

North Carolina Resident
Unweighted GPA: 3.2 (Two Fs Sophmore Year Dropped GPA)
Weighted GPA: 4.1
SAT: 1350

SAT II Math IIC: 790
SAT II MATH IC: 740
SAT II Biology: 670

Eight AP Exams Taken: (mostly 4s and 5s)

Good ECs

what would comment on the following schools:

UNC-Chapel Hill
UNC-Greensboro
Elon University
NC State University
Guilford College
