I have done many many hours of college searching and realized Holy Cross would be the best choice for me. However, I should be pro-active and have a list of safeties.

Does anyone have ideas for a safety? I think I want to stay in the New England area, but I would be open about other locations.
So far possible schools are Providence College, Saint Anselm and Clark University.
Any suggestions?

Is money an issue? GPA/scores?

money is not an issue. I left out my scores because I didn’t know if there were any obvious safeties I should check out. I can research the admissions, I was looking for suggestions.

Thanks Again!

kaschnip–I am a Holy Cross grad and the father of one as well, so I’m obviously prejudiced, but I do hope you’ll be accepted by The Cross and choose to attend. It’s a fantastic school. As far as backup schools in New England–based on your existing three choices–you might want to look at St Michael’s (my nephew went there and loved it) and Stonehill.

Thanks! I’ll take a look!

It sounds like Holy Cross does a lot to get their students good job placement and students really enjoy the campus enviroment. Do you agree?

I agree with several posters. For New England schools safeties, I’d recommend also looking at your state university. What state do you live in? I know UMass Amherst and UConn in particular have strong honors programs. Also, I think that Stonehill and Providence are good backup schools for you.

No one can tell you safeties without some grades and scores.

kaschnip-- I believe you’re right on the job placement side. As far as the campus environment, the campus is absolutely beautiful-- buildings and grounds-- and it’s well laid out so that it’s easy to get to classes and to activities. Many observers will comment about the hills and steps–no doubt they will get your legs in shape.

money is not an issue.

Glad to hear that your parents will happily pay $50k for any school. :)

What are your stats?

What is your likely major?

What else do you want in a school? quiet campus? rah rah sports to watch?
