Safety/ target schools: I need advice!

Hello!:

2070 SAT
3.8 GPA throughout HS (yea consistency. . haha) UW with most challenging course load

Just based on those numbers (I'm sorry they're probably not enough to super accurately answer my questions. . .I really don't know what field I'm exactly interested in yet.), could you classify the following as safeties, matches, or reaches? Any east coast or west coast suggestions would be great as well!

-Occidental
-USC
-UCLA
-Fordham
-University of British Columbia
-Boston College
-Tufts

**This isn't my whole list. . but the rest I'm fairly certain about the others (they're all totally impossible) haha. . .

**Ignore financial aspect of "safety." Consider them as admission safeties.

THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!

UCLA, USC, Tufts, and BC are not safeties for anyone…and even more so with a 2070 SAT. They could be considered reaches.

And…unless your family can pay full freight, you do need to consider the financial aspects. UCLA doesn’t give aid to OOS students and only really gives aid to low-income instate students.

I misread your OP…

-Occidental - match
-USC- reach
-UCLA - match
-Fordham - match
-University of British Columbia - no idea
-Boston College - reach

What school is your financial safety (a school that you KNOW you can get accepted to and a school that you know for SURE that you have funding for all costs.)
-Tufts

“What school is your financial safety (a school that you KNOW you can get accepted to and a school that you know for SURE that you have funding for all costs.)

???

Bleghh. . . about Fordham. . I was really thinking that would be a safety. -____-

Does it help to break my SAT up?
700 CR, 720 W, 650 math

Occidental - match
USC - slight reach
UCLA - reach
Boston College - slight reach
Tufts - reach

A safety for you would be Cal Poly SLO or UCSB assuming you are CA resident.

Thank you, all~

Might look at Holy Cross-similar to Tufts, Boston, and Fordham. HC has nice campus and a great alumni network like USC, although smaller.

ooops…

I accidentally copy/pasted wrong in post #3

Tufts should not be listed under my question about your financial safety.

So…which schools are your financial safety schools? (Schools you know you can pay for and will get accepted.)

UBC is a safety, maybe even Fordham, BC and Tufts I think is a match, maybe a slight reach. Are you concerned about tuition? Cuz my HS counselors told me that decent stats and willingness to pay full tuition = acceptance into most UCs. A lot of my international friends are paying the max possible tuition for UCLA and they got in with like 1900 SATs and 3.5 GPAs (some even got into berkeley!!?). They are also took the most challenging coursework which was the IB diploma, I think if you pay the max tuition UCLA should be doable.

WAOOWW!?

Haha. . . . My state school is a total financial safety. . .I suppose. I really don’t want to stay home, though. (Hawaii can get very small.)

In regards to tuition: to be straightforward, if I stretch my means and am able to maybe get a few scholarships, tuition will be a doable but painful thing at the most costly schools.
