Safety/Target Schools

TCU, University of AZ, University of Alabama, and Baylor have excellent engineering programs and offer tuition scholarships.

@NCKris: he won’t add any schools to his list, unless he replaces an existing school. I was wondering if he should replace Michigan with Cornell since both schools almost cost the same. Cornell is also a direct admit to his major.

Both Michigan and Cornell admit to the engineering division, not directly to major. For Michigan, the engineering student needs to earn a 2.0 college GPA and C grades in prerequisites to choose an engineering major. For Cornell, the college GPA requirement varies by major from 2.0 to 2.7. ECE requires a 2.5 GPA and C+ courses in prerequisites.

@ucbalumnus My bad, you are right, they both seem to be very similar programs. We will see how he does in the next three months to get all the EA apps and UC’s out, and if he has time, will try and have him apply to Cornell as well.
