Safety?

So I have read lots of details regarding admissions and the beauty of the campus, but I havent seen any post regarding the Campus safety, both inside and outside campus. How safe is the area sorround the Rose Hill Campus and the subway stations? Is it safe for a commuter to stay late in the school studying and then return home by himself/herself alone at 10p.m or later?

yes it is, I do it all the time. RH campus is closed off, you have to show your student i.d. to get it in or present you D.L. and tell security what is your business there. there are buses that work around the clock, as do the trains. However, once you hit the streets, just like anywhere else, you have to use good judgment to avoid a potential problem. E.g. don’t walk alone through desolated streets, stick with the crowd...you know, common sense things. if you are going to Manhattan - west side, you don’t even have to leave campus to get transported, just get on the ramvan at McGinley center and off you go. if your going to manhattan - east side, the Metro North is right next to the campus, literally. this will take you to grand central station or upstate NY. These two alternatives I mentioned are just in case you dont want to take public transportation, i.e. the buses or the subway. I'm a commuter student, and I leave campus on a regular basis after 10pm, so that is how I know all this.

cheers!

Honestly, just don't walk around on Fordham Road at 3 A.M. We receive security alerts about people who get harassed at absurd times in the night. Otherwise, you're fine.

Fordham rules..lets get drunk

You will be provided with a Campus Security Handbook during Orientation. NSO (New Student Orientation) will provide a lot of this information.
