SAIC - Portfolio "approved"?

An SAIC counselor who reviewed my portfolio at NPD said that it was "approved." A few days later, I received an email telling me to apply for an early merit scholarship. Does this mean that I will be accepted into the school as soon as I send in all the other materials (statement, transcripts, test scores)? Is the portfolio that I submit with the application solely for the purposes of the merit scholarship?

Thanks.

I am sure more people can answer your question but so far in the past,
yes after all other stuff are in, you’d get acceptance, in some case with scholarship amount.
it is better to bump up your portfolio if you can from generic NPD portfolio to fit specially for SAIC and your intended major, for the best merit $ you could get.
They used to give max 22K/year.
If you can, try using their own hi-tech way to submit it, with the best visual you could possibly get.
good luck

Thank you, bears and dogs. That was helpful. :)

Bears gave you excellent advice.
Even if you get an early portfolio acceptance you need to file all the other application stuff but it’s generally a formality. However, take Bears advice and submit the very best collection of portfolio slides you can because that merit scholarship can be a big deal and that’s why they’ve asked you to submit.
