Congrats to all for SJU admissions and merit awards. Did anyone apply for the McNulty Scholars program and when do they release the finalist information. D18 shadowed a scholar in Chemistry class (only about 20 kids in a first year class!) and really liked it. St Joes is a top choice for sure!
@MPT3D when did your D18 do her shadowing? Was that part of Walk with a Hawk? My D is signed up for WWAH in April and would love to shadow in a science class. She also applied for McNulty Scholars…still waiting. Fingers crossed but seriously have no idea where she stands among the applicants. Regardless, SJU remains her #1 school.
@100lucky1 D18 arranged this a few weeks ago, but just visited. I don’t believe she met any other applicants just the current scholars. I think this visit is just like WWAH. She did not see a dorm room, but saw cafeteria, library and gym. I did learn that the full McNulty scholarship would replace her other merit award. She does not know of any other applicants for her school, were there others from your Ds school? I don’t see much on CC about St Joes or the scholars program, It looks like a great opportunity if selected. Best of luck in your Ds college decisions.
My D17 applied for McNulty and has not heard. Do you know the method of notification - snail mail or email. Website said they would notify by the 12th - admissions counselor told me by the 9th. Also wondering if they notify candidates either way?
@cfrench the site says 18 finalists (notified by the 12th, my daughter thought via email?)will be invited to campus the first weekend in March. I hope they would notify the girls either way. Best of luck to your D! I wonder how many applications they received this year.
Thanks for the info! Good luck to your daughter too!
Has anybody heard from the McNulty program yet? I assume I was not a finalist because I did not receive anything by February 12, but I hoped I would be notified either way.
My D17 hasn’t heard anything either. Hoping that means the notifications were mailed on the 12th. Like you, we are hoping for notification either way.
We haven’t heard either… Looking forward to hearing about results from others. Good Luck.
I do know that last year for the Dean’s scholarship (which I also applied for and seems similar enough to McNulty) letters were sent out to all applicants whether or not they are finalists. They took up to 10 days to arrive in that situation. Of course I don’t want to get my hopes up!
Did anyone hear about the Dean’s Scholarship yet?
What is the difference between the Deans Scholarship and University Scholarship?
