This thread is for students accepted into the Saint Louis University Class of 2017. I just received a phone call from my admissions counselor on October 4th saying that I am accepted and I'm a recipient of the Vice Presidential Scholarship! Has anyone else been accepted? Also, is anyone applying for the Presidential Scholarship, MLK Scholarship, or Medical Scholars Program?

Just wondering, how long after you applied did you find out?

I finished my application in the beginning of June, but they didn’t start reviewing them until September (according to their website). It also said that admissions announcements start in the beginning of October.

I just got a call today that I was accepted to SLU! I freaked out… Anyway, do they tell you in their call as to whether or not you are being considered for a scholarship?

Just got back in town and had a voicemail waiting for me with my acceptance! MikeCort2, yes they do. They told me that I received a $16,000/year VP scholarship and that I could still apply for the Presidential Scholarship.

Yeah same, I just got the package in the mail. Saying I got the 16,000 vice president scholarship, and that I should apply for the presidential.

I got a call on Halloween with acceptance and VP 16,000 scholarship. I’m not sure whether I want to apply for the Pres. scholarship. It’s a full weekend on campus with only a ~5% chance of getting the scholarship. It feels more like a ploy to get the competitive students to see the campus and encourage them to come to SLU.

I can’t agree with you more. You’ll definitely get a few thousand more on your scholarship the moment you attend the interview. The good thing is that you’re within driving distance from Chicago. The bad thing is that if you’re not truly interested in attending(ie safety), then it’s not going to change your final decision.

I got my acceptance letter and phone call a few weeks ago, too! I also was granted the $16,000 scholarship (VP). If I get into the Medical Scholars Program, SLU is definitely a top contender. What is everyone’s opinions on SLU?

Hi! I got into SLU about a month ago. Washington University in St. Louis was my first choice, but I was not accepted there, so to SLU I go! :)

I got accepted into SLU about a month ago! The only thing is, now I’m waiting on the other schools I applied to. That’s going to be determine where I go.

I also received the acceptance phone call and the vice presidential scholarship. I thought it was very classy of SLU to give personal acceptance phone calls. This is one of the first schools I visited and really enjoyed campus and St. Louis. I’ve also received some very nice scholarships from other schools. It’s hard for a private school to be cheaper than a public school. I am very interested in pursuing graduate school or medical school after I receive my undergraduate degree. SLU’s med school is definitely one of my top options.

Congrats to everyone on acceptances and the scholarships! According to old threads about the Presidential Scholarship, AC’s should start calling applicants about interviews in the next week! Hoping for at least an interview!

I got accepted to SLU about a month ago with vice presidential scholarship. And then I got an email a week later that after further review of my application, the amount of vice presidential scholarship increased from $16,000 to $18,000!

I got a phone call in mid-December about my acceptance and earning the Dean’s Scholarship (14K), following with an acceptance letter two weeks later. Is it too late to apply for the Honors Program? I’m planning on retaking the ACT in February to be eligible (I only have a 27 at the moment).

Just got in as well, with a 14K scholarship (The Dean’s Scholarship). Definitely one of my top choices now.

anyone know how to find roommates? I’m on ■■■■■■■■ but there is hardly anyone else on there.

I got the call today I was admitted! Is there a facebook group?
