Saint Louis University Presidential Scholarship

I applied for the SLU presidential by the deadline which was December 1 and completed all the requirements. I was accepted to the school about a month ago and received the provost scholarship, but have not yet heard about my status regarding the presidential. Does anyone know when notification comes out or if they notify you whether you receive an interview or not? Any help or advice would be much appreciated!

I got an e-mail about an hour ago telling me that I was chosen to come in for interview weekend for the Pres. Scholarship… so check your e-mail.

What letter does your last name start with cause I haven’t gotten anything yet and its making me nervous. One of my friends got one around that time too, but her name is at the beginning of the alphabet so I’m hoping that’s a good sign.

oo and also do you remember when you applied…like how close to the deadline? cause i applied last minute so that might also be a factor. Sorry I know I am being really petty, but this is my #1 school and I am freaking out.

Daughter got a call from her admissions rep and then email shortly thereafter this afternoon. Last name starts with M.

Good luck!

Hey! my last name starts with a T… and I applied like maybe 2 hours before the deadline…

and its not petty at all  I completely understand that feeling.

Yeah I got an email to call my admission rep and was invited! my last name starts with K, but I applied about a week before the deadline if that makes a difference  anybody know for sure if they are going to the weekend?

I’m going! :-)

Darn…i really hope they call or email me sometime tomorrow. At least to let me know whether or not they liked me. That way I will know for sure and not have to worry about it any more.

Did they give you a choice of weekends? Cause I thought there were multiple ones?

We just got the email as well. We are thrilled. Son really wants to attend!

Amanda, no choice of weekend. Students are assigned to 1 of 2 weekends devoted to interviews. DD’s admissions rep. did tell me if we had a SERIOUS conflict she would attempt to see if she could switch her but would not garauntee it. DD got email and follow up call from admissions rep. today.

so does anyone know how many applicants they interview? and how many out of these applicants they choose to actually receive the full-ride??

So which weekends did you all get invited to??? Although I did not get invited yet, and I’m guessing probably won’t at this point, I’m still really excited to hear from all of you!

I got invited to the Feb 18-20th one… oo and I figured out the answer to my own question if neone else wanted to know… theres about 200 ppl and 30 ppl get it. Does anyone know where I can find out the topic for the formatted essay that we r supposed to write??

Oh, is there another weekend? We are actually off the week of Feb 15-19th. It would be great if we could go then. Son was invited for the weekend of the 25th.

I also was confused by the mention of essay and resume. Is this the essay son wrote for the competition, or is there a new essay required? Also unsure about how to download it.

From what I understand we are supposed to go to our scheduled weekend, but if you have a major conflict they will try to change it but its not guaranteed… but I’m not for sure on that one…

I believe we have to write a new essay, but I could not find the topic on any of the attachments. You attach it to the response as to when you will be coming and what activities you would like to partake in while at campus.

I was thinking that maybe the formatted essay and resume just means that they would like another copy of the ones we already wrote since when we applied we just pasted them into those boxes. Perhaps they want ones that are a little bit more interviewer friendly (i.e. cover page, paragraphs formatted, margins). I am just guessing on this though

smk, what weekend are you going? son would love to meet another BME major.

We were wondering, too, if it’s just a pasting of son’s original essay and resume to that it’s there for the interviewers
