i was on salary.com and i found out that for my zip code the starting salary for an aersospace engineer is 50028-59225 and the highest salary after 8 years is 89,685-112,500. and thats only for 25%-75% percentile. the ceiling seems to be at 120,745. thats amazing. is this website for real?

I've looked at that website before too, and the salaries reported there are higher than the ones I've seen elsewhere. Then again, living in New York, I would hope that salaries are significantly higher than places where the cost of living is much lower.

It's really not that amazing when you get out into the working world.

Yeah, that sounds about right to me. Experience pays in engineering.

It seems like a massive amount of money, until you actual get it and realize how much responsibilities you have that take away from your earnings. When I was little, I thought there's no way I'd be able to spend it all if I made $2k a month. Of course I had no concepts of taxes, insurance, car payments, student loans, 401k at the time.

$50k is very livable. Plenty of people make less than that in this country.

and that's only for beginning job. it can be from 50,000-60,000. i got that by entering my zip code for aeropace engineering.
