Sallie Mae or Plus Loan?

Can you tell me the difference?
Which is better?
Thanks!

Sallie Mae is a recommended lender for PLUS loans. You can take out a PLUS loan though salliemae.com.

Sallie mae is to banks is to students.
Fannie mae is to banks is to homebuyers.

Sallie mae is a Government sponsered enterprise providing a liquidity (buys) to lenders who make student loans (Stafford, PLUS, etc) . SM buys the loans from lenders and then resells the loans in various forms to entities.

There will be very little or no difference between a PLUS loan from your local school, bank, or other lender. You may however get slightly better interest from a lender rather than from sallie mae; ie discount for preauthorized debit and discount for so many on time, consecutive payments. You may also get better service. The forms are identical. I am not sure if sallie mae actually services the loan. The servicer will be your contact for any service questions and payment.

Thank You!
