Much appreciated.

I have an identical twin under the alias of np99sky here, so if everything seems similar -it is.

I am a high school junior. I am biracial, I am blessed with both parents going to Stanford, I am anxious about college chances.

I am asking for your help.

I go to an extremely competitive public school in southern California. 2700 students or so, I believe, and we just had 15 accepted to Stanford, 8 or 9 to each in HYP, 12 to Northwestern, and over 70 to USC in the last class. So the school's name should carry some weight, I think.

It doesn't provide rank, though. So that's going to be estimated. But:

GPA: 3.8 (UW), 4.4 (W)
This could go up next year, prediction is around 3.85 UW and 4.6 W. Of course, that's a prediction, so it isn't worth anything.

SATs: 2150 - Math 800, Verbal 710, Writing 720 (one sitting)
I should be able to raise this. Verbal, definitely, I'll be studying. I received a 9 on the essay, so I'll be aiming to boost that, too.

SATIIs: Math IIc 790, taking Biology and U.S. History soon.
PSAT: 223.

Class rank: Top 7.5%, around.

My courseload isn't so cool.
Freshman year: All honors possible, 4.6 GPA. All A's, but a B in Algebra II Honors.

Sophomore year: Dropped to trig regular, still got a B. No science this year, although I'm not going into science. Web Page Production, Chinese (another B), Latin 3 Honors, Psychology (prerequisite for Psych AP), English 2 Honors.

Two B's, and only two honors classes. The other ones I wanted to take, and honors weren't offered. I dropped Chinese after the first semester. I was the only one who didn't have previous knowledge of the language in a class of 35 people, although adcoms won't know that, and it's still an excuse.

Junior year: Web Page Production, English 3H, Bio 2 AP, US History AP, Sports Medicine. Not many classes, I had a lot of ECs I really wanted to focus on.

Planned total APs (including senior year): Government AP, Economics AP, U.S. History AP, Bio AP, Environmental Science AP, Statistics AP, English Language AP

Should I take Calculus BC instead of Statistics senior year? I'm only going to have three years of math. I took Geometry Honors in middle school (one grade ahead in math) with A's. I realize getting B's in Algebra 2H and trig (regular!) don't look good for math ability, but I got an 80 on the PSAT math section. I just got three 800s in a row on official past math SAT sections. Whether it's cliche or not, I've changed.

So that's: Latin 1, Latin 2, Latin 3 Honors. (B one semester of latin 3)
Algebra II Honors, Trig, Stat AP/Calc BC AP (B's AIIH, Trig)
Chem Honors, Bio AP, Envi Sci AP (all A's, planned envi sci)
English 1H, 2H, 3H, Language 4 AP (all A's, planned in lang)
World History H, Model United Nations, US AP, Gov/Econ AP (A's)

I love politics and government. I also love business. International relations and politics foremost, but international business doesn't sound bad, period..

Extracurriculars/experience:

Model United Nations: (I get a grade for it, but it's really a club.) I've won gavels for #1 delegate numerous times, I compete often. I do not have a leadership position.

Palos Verdes Youth Organization: Co-founder and Treasurer. I've spent over 800 hours here, I just spent five organizing more today. It cut into Friday night today, it's that important. It's community service in the area, meeting the needs of overlooked local families. A fundraiser just finished, we have now raised over $10,000, while I manage at most around $20,000 total. It gets spent very quickly, there's a lot to spend on.

Students for Barack Obama - Founder of high school chapter.
Young Democrats - Heavily involved, lots of campaigning.
Future Business Leaders of America - Founder of high school chapter.

Internship at LTK Consulting: I learned four computer languages here, I spent one summer.

Work for Japanese Translating Company - I am fluent in Japanese, I get paid to make and/or edit translations.

Math Club: I do well in competitions. 110 on the AMC freshman year, didn't take it sophomore year, 112 junior year. I went to the AIME.

Junior Varsity Tennis freshman and sophomore year, Varsity Cross-Country and Track junior and senior year (planned). I already have varsity letters from being fairly fast. I am not a standout, period, however. However, I have faster 800 meter times than the lower end people competing for HYP, even if I'm not even close to the top ones, so I'll try contacting the coach.

Awards:
- National Merit Semifinalist (I think. Provisional. When do you officially find out? I've just gotten stuff from colleges saying "Your recent test scores place you at the top in the country." before I took the SAT.
- NHS
- Math Club for 110 and 112 on AMC, and two 4's on the AIME
- Model United Nations, top delegate.

I am taking courses in international relations and politics at the community college during the summer. I'll also be managing two internships, one at the local chamber of commerce, the other for the supervisor of L.A. county.

I plan on getting extremely involved in the upcoming election (Obama! Whoo!), and right now the campaign for becoming the party candidate. I've been heavily involved in political clubs and everything all four years of high school.

I would love to get into Yale, first and foremost. And Wharton. And Princeton. Georgetown, UChicago, Harvard, and Stanford after that.

Do I have a shot? My courses are less than stellar. Far from it. Period. As you can clearly see. At the same time, I've pulled A's in most everything else, and I've been fighting to keep the class rank I have at my school.

I need reassurance. Or even better, advice for what more to do. I've been involved in politics and everything on my own, I've wanted it even before I ever knew the word for it.

I can boost SATs. I'm doing as much as I can, I've got recs set, I've got essays set.
