Sam Houston vs Stephen F Austin

I am a male from Illinois. My major will be geology. The schools are also similar cost. I’m struggling to pick which one I should attend.

Such awesome schools with terrific history.

Perhaps your major is considered better at one versus the other.

If all else fails and everything is equal. Try the sweatshirt trick. Wear one from each school for a few days. See which one seems to put an extra skip in your step, in so many words.

Good luck.

Both Programs are ranked almost the same.

Have you visited either school? Both Nacogdoches and Huntsville are similar small college towns. Huntsville is about an hour from Houston, which could provide some opportunities for a geology major (considering all the oil and gas companies there).

My friend’s son is very happy at SFA. He studies GIS.

Did you look at both campuses on google earth? Check Reddit? See what clubs are offered? Both are nice schools.

Sam Houston is probably more convenient to fly home if that’s a factor.

You should consider Texas State University if your gonna be a geology major.
