<p>My essay for the common application is very similar to UW's prompt. Can I use the same essay for both? </p>

Evaluate a significant experience, achievement, risk you have taken, or ethical dilemma you have faced and its impact on you.</p>
<p>UW Prompt-
Tell us a story from your life, describing an experience that either demonstrates your character or helped to shape it.</p>
<p>If you feel good about what you wrote for your common application personal statement, then by all means use it for the UW prompt. Like you said, the prompts are nearly identical, and what’s more, the UW prompt is even worded in a way to encourage you to stretch it a bit, as they say something like “write about whatever will let us get to know you best” if I remember correctly.</p>
<p>That’s what I did and it worked perfectly.</p>
<p>I used the same essay for UW as I did for my UC applications. It fit both prompts very nicely. You are definitely allowed to reuse essays.</p>
