<p>It probably depends which school it is, and whether you’re a qualified applicant. Is it the other person’s safety? If it is, sounding genuinely interested may give you a leg up on them.</p>

<p>I’m not sure, but you’ll drive yourself less crazy if worry less about the other people applying. Probably 30 people from my ds’s HS are applying to his dream school.</p>
