Same subscore for all three sections..Good or Bad?

Hey everyone, I got a 690 subscore in Math, Reading, and Writing....would it be better to have say a 600 in one section and an 800 in another?

I don't know what I want to major in or what my "focus" will be either..

So would colleges take my scores as being "well-rounded" or more like i'm "not GREAT at anything"?

Dear “Jack of all trades, master of none”, this is actually a very good question that you raise for your very first post. The simple answer would be a 1400 (600 + 800) is better than a 1380 (690 + 690). I think your question might actually be is a 2070 (690 x 3) better than a 2070 where you score a 600, 800, and say a 670. I personally would want to take my chances that I could hopefully raise my 600 score. Getting a perfect score of 800, providing it was in Math or CR, would be worth the risk of getting a 600 on something else. This assumes of course that you would be taking the test a second time. In your case, you will still want to retake the test and do some practice tests in preparation for your next sit down. Good luck!

it really depends on what college your heading to because if you go to a school where they do superscoring, then yes focus on one subject and if you want to go ivy league, focus on cr.

Right, the 600 and 800 are sort of hypothetical in this case. Should I be satisfied with my scores though? If I god as low as a 600 on any section I would probably retake the SAT, regardless of my other subscores…but would it be wise to retake it in my current situation?

It depends where you want to go to school and what you want to major in.
