<p>In publishing at least, it’s called a simultaneous submission (where you send the same manuscript to several publishers at the same time, rather than sending it to one, and waiting until it is accepted ofd rejected before sending it out again.) But since the colleges aren’t buying the essay from you, I think it’s okay.</p>
