same teacher two yrs in a row-drop?

Hi so my physics teacher this year is someone who I had for science last year too, I heard that if you get a teacher twice that you can request a teacher change.... is this true? Can I do it anytime during the year (because my school normally only allows class changes in the first five weeks of a semester). This woman is insane* and the whole class is failing.... I kinda also feel guilty about asking to be switched out bc I know all my friends have to suffer the whole year with her and any advice would help, thanks.
*She gives us crazy problems she says wont be on the test but never teaches or even tells us what is going to be on the test so we just guess what chapter we are supposed to be on and study that... but apparently we are starting the year in the middle of the textbook instead of the beginning?????

That’s going to be a school policy, I’d talk to your counselor. (I’d guess that it’s too late though.)

On the subject of having a teacher multiple times I’ve had this one every year of HS and my 7th grade year of junior high. (7th history, Logic, APWH, Service Learning, AP Gov)

Depends on the school, really. My school is small (<700 people) so there usually is no option for that. For example, there’s only one French teacher in the entire school so you can’t really request a teacher change at mine for French…

Thanks guys, have any of you heard about the California Blue Book, because my understanding is that there is where the rule came from…
