I want to apply to Carnegie Mellon University School of Computer Science on early decision along with MIT. However, CMU holds you to a legal binding agreement that you are required to attend CMU if you are accepted on early decision. If I get wait listed for CMU:SCS, I would then also like to apply to CMU:CIT. However, I do not want to apply to CMU:CIT for early decision because of the legal requirement that I must attend CIT if I get accepted. So I have two questions:
1. Would it be possible for me to apply only for CMU:SCS now, and then add CMU:CIT into the schools I am applying for?
2. If so, could I update my supplement essay on CommonApp so that it reflects my interest in computer science AND engineering?

Thanks for any help
