Should I email them about my decision? It’s been around 40 days and haven’t heard anything from them. Starting to think that I messed up something within my application.
@stats1020 I called over the weekend and was told that they’ve been having delays this year for decisions. I was told on Friday that there’d be decisions out at “the beginning of next week”, although I don’t know if that’s this week or next.
I wish I’d just get rejected already lol save me the nervousness
Hey is SAMS targeted towards minorities or disadvantaged groups? Does that lower the chances of people who aren’t? Trying to get a sense of how this affects the applicant.
I think it is targeted to minorities
My son applied 2/5 and last reference submitted 2/11. Has anyone applied around that time and heard back?
My daughter applied and had references submitted around the same time and she has not heard back.
^ I submitted 2/4 and had final rec submitted 2/6. Nothing yet.
Maybe they only do decisions on Fridays?
Yeah, I noticed two past decisions (or at least when the posters announced their decisions) were from Fridays, and I got my decision on Friday as well.
@Penguinni At what time did you get your decision?
@CavsFan2003 5:19 PM
@Penguinni did you get accepted?
@imabigOof I got rejected
Forgot to mention but got my decision on Tuesday at 4:18 PM
At this point, I’m just expecting a rejection. No way an acceptance would be 2 weeks late, right? Idk. Sort of giving up hope.
I submitted January 25th and have not gotten a reply either. I guess we can just be happy that they didn’t reject us right away, right?
Received my acceptance earlier this week (3/3), submitted January 31.

comparing my stats to others, i really thought i would get rejected. i also never heard from Diane and thought that was already a bad sign. but i’m pretty sure my essays were the deciding factor. i touched on how my community lacked equity opportunities, why i am interested in the STEM field and the SAMS program in particular, and went more in depth about my school involvement and personal struggles.
good luck to everyone still waiting on their decisions!
also, does someone mind sending me the link to the group chat? my email is ireneyan989@gmail.com
how many SAMS students have already been accepted?
It’s been 3 weeks since I submitted, does it usually take longer than this to hear back?
@dancer128 Hi! I called Diane and she told me it’s taking more time than usual due to the number of applications they have received- also they lowered the number of selected applicants to 75 (meaning its much more selective). She told me that they had already made a decision on my application and I should know by tomorrow.
p.s. it has been more than 3 weeks for me as well!!
