San Diego Mesa College to UC

So basically I have accepted the fact that a 3.4 GPA and 1710 SAT score isn't really UC material. Now my plan is to go to Mesa, do really well there, and then transfer to a UC school, preferably UCLA or UC Berkeley. I really am motivated to knock out all my prereq classes and study my a** off, because I know that going to a UC means a successful future. Right now my ideal career is in psychology, and hopefully two years at Mesa will help me narrow it down even more. Mesa is notorious for its slacker students, but that is definitely not me. I am an intellectual. I'm also hardworking and profoundly creative. Am I making the right choice here? How difficult will this particular path be? Any tips will help me out. I'm just easily overwhelmed when making decisions like these. Thanks!!

There is a “UC Transfers” forum that you may want to try.

[Welcome to ASSIST](http://www.assist.org) will be helpful in planning your course work for transfer preparation.

Your stats probably could get into some UC as a freshman.

Would I have a shot at UC Santa Cruz? As a freshman?
