<p>Hello, I wanted to know a little more about the UCSD Point System, particularly the 500 points associated with special circumstances. I had two very close friends, both of whom I knew for 10 years pass away during my Sophomore year. This tragedy severely impacted my perspective in the world and had a significant affect on my performance in school. I also missed almost 40 days of school in my sophomore and junior years of high school mostly due to a weak immune system caused by insomnia. Do these circumstances qualify me for those points according to the point system for UC San Diego?</p>
