Is kinesiology done?
@santafriedrice: I have seen 3 posts for Kinesiology acceptances with EI’s of 4340/4350 SAT and 1084 ACT.
Acceptances will not be done until the waitlisted and rejected posts start showing up.
Is chemistry done?
My GPA is a 3.3 and an ACT of 27 I have a ton of EC’'s do you think I have a chance? @Gumbymom
@santafriedrice: SDSU like almost all CSU’s do not consider EC’s in their admission decisions. What is considered is your CSU GPA and test scores. Your Eligibility index= (3.3 x200) + (27x10)= 930. If you are local, you have a chance. If you are not local, then it will be tough just based on past year’s EI’s for Kinesiology. What other schools do you have on your list? Any acceptances?
@Gumbymom How are you finding previous year EI for particular majors? I’m looking for the chemistry one.
does anyone know average El’s for poli sci?
@Gumbymom have you seen any acceptances for graphic design yet?
@rosiesdiner My daughter was accepted last pm to graphic design. Don’t know her EI but CSU GPA was 4.1 with ACT 27. Hope this helps. Good luck to you!
@rjm232: I have been collecting EI data by major for the last 2 years. There is no specific EI threshold by major for SDSU. In general, an EI of 4100+ SAT or 1000+ ACT was competitive for non-local in-state applicants other than Nursing. One trend that I have been seeing however, is that the EI’s continue to climb each successive year along with the # of applications, so a 4100+ may not be make it this year for many majors.
@rosiesdiner: I have not seen any acceptances for Graphic Design this year. Only 2 from last year with EI’s in the 4100 range.
@jjn1999: I have only 1 data point for Poli Sci this year, an EI of 1070 (ACT). A couple from last year that ranged from a 950 (local applicant ACT) up to 4620 SAT (non-local instate).
All applicants, you need to remember that not all acceptances are posted on college confidential and the data is calculated from the posted stats off these decision threads so they are skewed but hopefully helpful in determing if you are in the ball park.
EI thresholds will fluctuate year to year based in the in-coming Freshman’s class stats.
